PRESS: Government may re-auction Tambeisky cluster licenses
MOSCOW, Oct 21 (PRIME) -- The government is considering returning licenses for the long undeveloped fields to the fund of undistributed licenses and re-auction them individually, and gas producer Novatek may compete for the deposits of the Tambeisky cluster with reserves of more than 7 trillion cubic meters, business daily Kommersant reported on Friday citing a meeting minutes.
Gazprom received the licenses that expire in 2028 under a government order in 2008.
Novatek tried to attain the licenses several times, the last time in 2021. The company was ready to buy them from Gazprom or exchange for own shares. Gazprom Alexei Miller CEO barred the deal saying that the company planned to develop the fields with RusGazDobycha.
The Natural Resources and Environment, the Energy ministries and the Federal Mineral Resources Agency plan to consider the law changes until November 26.
